Wellsville woman appeals sentence in drug, drive-by shooting | News, Sports, Jobs

LISBON — A Wellsville woman sentenced to more than 12 1/2 years in prison on multiple charges for more than a dozen drug charges and her involvement in a shooting last year is challenging her sentence.

Jordyn Price, 27, McKee Road, recently filed an appeal in the Seventh District Court of Appeals regarding the sentences she received in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, with several of the terms ordered to run consecutively, one after another, instead of all at once.

Most of the prison time came from an incident on April 13, 2023, when she drove a co-defendant past a victim’s residence while he fired multiple shots into the residence from the vehicle, earning a sentence of four to six years in prison for complicity and an additional mandatory three years for the weapon specification. For the other four counts, she received additional prison terms of 18 months, 24 months and two for 12 months, bringing the total to 12 years and six months. State prison officials could also add an additional two years if they deem it necessary for the accessory charge.

One of the drug charges included third-degree felony aggravated drug trafficking and two counts of aggravated drug possession, fourth-degree felony trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin and two counts of aggravated drug trafficking, felonies fifth degree traffic. in cocaine and possession of cocaine and two counts of aggravated drug possession, along with a specification for forfeiture of money in a $6,245 possession drug case.

First-degree counts of trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and possession of a fentanyl-related compound were dismissed from the case.

One count stemmed from Price’s alleged possession of methamphetamine in an amount equal to or greater but less than five times the bulk amount on September 1, 2023. The other counts stemmed from February 2, 2024, and involved methamphetamine in – an equal or greater amount. , but less than five times bulk, heroin in an amount equal to or greater than 1 gram but less than five grams, cocaine in an amount equal to or greater than 1 gram but less than five grams and MDMA, oxycodone and xylazine.

In another 2024 case, Price pleaded guilty to third-degree trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine, trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound and possession of a fentanyl-related compound and fifth-degree drug trafficking, with charges of aggravation. drug trafficking, aggravated drug possession and misdemeanor drug possession dismissed.

All charges stemmed from an incident on April 6, 2024 and involved cocaine in an amount equal to or greater than 20 grams but less than 27 grams, fentanyl in an amount equal to or greater than five grams but less than 10 grams and xylazine.

Price also pleaded guilty to third-degree felony charges of unlawful transportation of drugs of abuse on the grounds of a certain government facility, aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, and specifications for forfeiture of money from a drug case. Charges of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine, and two counts of aggravated drug possession and a drug possession charge were dismissed.

According to the indictment, on December 11, 2023, Price brought drugs onto the grounds of a detention center. On December 10 and 11, 2023, Price prepared for sale and possessed an amount of methamphetamine equal to or greater than five times the bulk but less than 50 times the bulk along with possession of $2,150.

Price also pleaded guilty to charges in a 2023 case of third-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft for staying at a property in Avondale, East Liverpool, to commit theft after the owner was told to leave when he left at work on May 1, 2023.

In addition to jail time, Price received mandatory fines totaling $45,000 and his driver’s license was suspended for five years. He was ordered to forfeit $6,245 and $2,150 and was given credit for at least 165 days already served in jail.
