Teen charged with shooting 5 family members in Washington: Report

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder for the brutal shooting death of his parents and three siblings in the US capital, Washington.

Documents from King County Court in Washington revealed Thursday that the teenager shot his parents, Mark and Sarah, two brothers, ages 9 and 13, and his 7-year-old sister.

The documents also reveal that the killer was also charged with the attempted shooting and wounding of his 11-year-old sister.

However, the injured sister is in “satisfactory condition,” a spokeswoman for Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center said.

As the investigation continues, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy report said all five family members died of gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, the gun used in the shootings belonged to the victim’s father.

Conformable CBS Newsthe suspect called police before 5 a.m. Monday, claiming his 13-year-old brother “just shot my whole family and killed himself too,” presenting a made-up story.

On the other hand, the police also received a call from the neighbors who claim that the injured sister escaped from the house revealed that her 15-year-old brother shot the whole family.

The girl also told neighbors that she held her breath and passed out.

It is pertinent to note that the teenager is charged as a juvenile, but according to a prosecutor, the judge will decide whether the case “will be transferred to adult court”.

Of note, the suspect is currently in custody at the Clark Child and Family Justice Center and will be arraigned on Friday, October 25, 2024.
