ED probe reveals PFI’s global network of over 13,000 active members, hawala finance

According to the ED dossier, PFI had more than 13,000 active members in Singapore and Gulf countries, including Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The ED has alleged that the actual objectives of the PFI, formed in 2006 in Kerala but headquartered in Delhi, are “different” from those set out in its constitution.

It has also been alleged from the ED that the PFI conducted weapons training under the guise of physical education classes, where he taught “offensive and defensive” maneuvers using different variations of punches, kicks standing, knife and stick attacks.

Delhi riots, connection with Hathras

The PFI has also been accused of being “actively involved” in “inciting” violence and “fomenting trouble” during the February 2020 Delhi riots. It has also been alleged that members of the PFI and CFI (Campus Front of India, the student wing of the PFI) visited Hathras in Uttar Pradesh a few years ago with the intention of disturbing communal harmony, inciting communal riots and spreading terror.

The ED has alleged that the PFI had planned to form a “terrorist gang” by collecting deadly weapons and explosive devices to launch attacks on important and sensitive places and individuals with the intention of undermining the unity, integrity and sovereignty of India and disturb communal harmony.
