Josh Allen’s girlfriend Hailee Steinfeld says she almost cursed relationship with $430 ‘bad omen’ gift

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen almost ruined his relationship with Hailee Steinfeld with the Christmas present he bought her last year.

Steinfeld made the revelation in his newsletter, explaining how the Bills star bought him a knife for Christmas in 2023.

“I got this knife for Josh last year for Christmas because cooking is something we like to do together,” she said. ‘At Christmas he got me… the same thing in a different color!

“After we exchanged our knives, he told me that there is an old woman’s story that if you give a knife to your partner you must pay for it, otherwise it means the breakup of a relationship. So that we exchanged quarters so as not to have this bad omen.

‘Anyway, my goodness, I love this knife! I don’t know much about a chef’s knife, but it’s very nice and makes me feel official.”

The knife in question costs about $430, chump change for Allen, who has a six-year, $258 million deal with the Bills.

Allen, one of the most highly regarded players in the NFL, has been dating actress Steinfeld since last year.

The 28-year-old and his Bills team are 4-2 on the season so far and play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.

The quarterback is expected to line up alongside Amari Cooper for the first time, with the Bills trading for the wide receiver earlier this week.

“Knowing what kind of caliber of player he is excites me,” Allen said earlier this week.

“Another guy in this dressing room who, from what I’ve seen so far, and what I’ve been told about him, is all about winning, and he’s going to do everything he can to help this team win football games.

‘And you have a group of men in this dressing room, who all want the same thing and want to work for the same goal. It’s a pretty powerful team.
