Columbus sets records. And not just at the polls.

Temperatures in the city reached 75 degrees Monday, the hottest temperature on record for a Nov. 4 date since at least 1878, when National Weather Service records begin.

If temperatures reach 80 degrees on Tuesday, as forecast, it will be the warmest November 5 on record. The current record is 77 degrees set on November 5, 2022, according to NWS Wilmington data.

And just a few days beforethe city recorded a record low temperature of 34 degrees on November 2.

That’s not the only weather oddity in store this week; NWS Wilmington predicts wind gusts up to 40 mph and a 90 percent chance of rain (a rarity in Drought continues in Ohio) Tuesday evening and early Wednesday.

  • Thursday: It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 62.
  • Thursday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66.
  • Friday evening: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.
  • Saturday night: Showers are likely, mainly after 1 am. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Sunday: There will be showers. The high will be near 66 and there is an 80 percent chance of precipitation.
  • Sunday night: There are probably showers. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. There is a 60% chance of precipitation.
  • Monday: It will be partly sunny, with a high near 64.
