Donald Trump won the states of Kentucky and Indiana and Kamala Harris won Vermont, according to AP projections.

No states were in doubt for either candidate, and a number of additional states are expected to be called in the next hour after a flurry of poll closures.

Polls have just closed in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia and parts of Florida.

3:01 pm PT/6:01 pm ET: The first polls of 2024 close in Indiana and Kentucky

The first surveys from the 2024 election they closed, in parts of Indiana and Kentucky.

The first projections are expected at 4:00 PM PT/7:00 PM ET, when a number of state polls close, including the swing state of Georgia.

The networks are also releasing more exit poll data, including one that showed 80 percent of voters had decided who to vote for before September. Only 3% made up their minds in the last few days, according to CNN data.

The first set of exit poll data shows widespread dissatisfaction with the way things are going in the US

About 72 percent said they were dissatisfied or angry with the direction of the country, compared to 26 percent who said they were enthusiastic or satisfied, according to CNN.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating is just 41%, with 58% disapproving.

That said, a large majority — 61 percent — said they believe America’s best days are ahead.

In terms of the most important issues, 35% of those polled said it was democracy, followed by 31% who said it was the economy, 14% said abortion and 11% immigration.

The numbers are early and will be updated as the day goes on.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris made a stop at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, DC to thank staff and volunteers and make a call to the phone bank. Harris did a series of radio interviews today and plans to do Zerlina Maxwell’s SiriusXM show tonight.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is already claiming “massive fraud” in Philadelphia, as he did in 2020.

Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein said there is “absolutely no truth to this allegation. This is another example of misinformation. Voting in Philadelphia was safe and secure.”

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner wrote on X: “There is no factual basis within law enforcement to support this wild allegation. I invited complaints and accusations of impropriety all day long. If Donald J. Trump has facts to back up his wild accusations, we want them now. Right now. We’re not holding our breath.”

1:42 pm PT: Networks prepare to release first batch of exit poll data

The presidential election billed as one of the most important in history will soon see a first batch of data, though the numbers won’t be actual results.

The networks plan to give their first update at 5:00 PM ET/2:00 PM PT, which will provide insight into how voters feel about the state of the country, what their top issues are and what they’re looking for in a candidate. .

The exit polls come from Edison Research for the National Election Pool and are done for a consortium of media companies, including CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC. Initial data will not provide information on who wins. It will only be released when polls close in a particular state.

Early polls close at 6 pm ET/3 pm PT in select Indiana and Kentucky districts.

At 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT, polls close in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia and parts of Florida.

At 7:30 pm ET/4:30 pm PT, polls close in North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia.

At 8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT, polls close in Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington, DC, remaining parts of Florida, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Tennessee.

At 8:30 pm ET/5:30 pm PT, polls close in Arkansas.

At 9 pm ET/6 pm PT, polls close in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

At 10pm ET/7pm PT, polls close in Montana, Nevada and Utah.

At 11pm ET/8pm PT, polls close in California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

At 12:00 PM ET/9:00 PM PT, polls close in Hawaii.

At 1:00 a.m. ET/10:00 p.m. PT, polls close in Alaska.
