Washington Commanders looking to trade Last Ron Rivera 1st Rd. Choose

The Commanders from Washington they have plenty of people hoping to see them make a move before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

Most are looking Commanders add a player or two and have a group of positions in mind where they would particularly like to see general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn make an addition.

The Washington secondary is widely considered the most talent-deficient group on the roster, leading to plenty of calls for the team to trade any number of cornerbacks — the specific group many consider the weakest link.

We know that Peters and his staff are constantly looking for opportunities to improve the roster, not as an indictment of the current members, but out of an intentional desire to be competitive 24/7.

That desire to be competitive led to the departure of several players who didn’t necessarily fit the mold, including several first-round picks selected before Peters and Quinn arrived. And according to Josina Anderson’s report Monday night, another one — the Ron Rivera draft class finale — could be on the way out.

“I’m told the Chiefs recently evaluated potential interest in 2023 first-round cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. on the trade market,” Anderson sent a tweetciting anonymous sources for the report.

It’s no surprise that the team could stretch to gauge interest in the cornerback who has appeared in just over 100 snaps this season and didn’t play a single one in the Week 9 win against the New York Giants.

Speculation that Forbes could be on his way out has been consistent since the offseason and reached an all-time high during training camp, when the second-year corner seemed to struggle quite often during open practices.

However, the team began the season with Forbes lined up in front of Benjamin St-Juste, who has since been paired with rookie Mike Sainristil after the Commanders defense gave Noah Igbinoghene and Michael Davis opportunities to secure post.

The deadline for teams to accept trades is Tuesday, November 5th at 4pm ET.
