Frontenac OPP report death of youth following ATV incident – ​​Kingston News

The Frontenac County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reports that an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) incident in North Frontenac Township has resulted in the death of a young girl.

According to police, on Thursday, October 24, 2024, an ATV rollover occurred on Greer Road near Ardoch in North Frontenac Township. A passerby saw the ATV overturned in the ditch and then located the injured youth, OPP said.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Frontenac OPP responded to the Greer Road location along with North Frontenac Fire Department and Frontenac Paramedics. The youngster, a nine-year-old girl from the area, was pronounced dead at the scene, the OPP said in a news release the following day.

Frontenac OPP said they are continuing to investigate the incident and that the OPP Technical Collision Investigation Team, a collision reconstructionist, the Frontenac OPP Crime Unit and the Chief Coroner’s Office are assisting.
