Israel’s military announced on Monday (November 4th) that it had “eliminated” Abu Ali Rida, a Hezbollah commander, in an airstrike in southern Lebanon, as the Israeli air force stepped up its attacks.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) posted on X: “The IAF struck and eliminated Abu Ali Rida, the Hezbollah commander of the Baraachit area of ​​southern Lebanon. Abu Ali Rida was responsible for planning and executing rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on the IDF. troops and supervised the terrorist activities of Hezbollah operatives in the area.”

According to the Israeli military, Abu Ali Rida was the main person behind the planning and execution of rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on IDF troops. He also led Hezbollah operations in the Baraachit area of ​​southern Lebanon.

The IDF also reported that Ahmed Al-Dalu, a member of the Islamic Jihad Military Intelligence Unit in Gaza, was killed. Al-Dalu took part in the October 7 attack on the Israeli community of Kfar Aza and was involved in planning attacks against Israeli citizens.

This conflict escalated after almost a year of rising tensions. Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel, supporting Hamas. The current fighting began after a surprise attack on Israel on October 7 last year.
