OnePlus Open 2: Expected Release Timeline

Tipster @Rodent950 has claimed on X that the OnePlus Open 2 could launch in the first quarter of 2025. This timeline aligns with the expected launch of the Oppo Find N5, which is the Chinese version of the foldable line of ‘OnePlus. The original OPPO Find N3 was launched globally as OnePlus Open and was well received for its design and performance. So, now that the Oppo Find N5 is coming, the OnePlus Open 2 is likely on the way. If the timeline holds true, we could see the Find N5 and OnePlus Open 2 debut simultaneously in early 2025.

OnePlus Open 2: Camera system updates

Interestingly, the leaker also shared details about possible changes to the camera system. Oppo reportedly tested the Find X8 Ultra’s quad-camera setup on the Find N5, but ultimately decided to keep the current triple-camera setup. The decision to avoid the larger quad-camera system could be due to bulk concerns, as adding extra cameras could have increased the size and weight of the device. So this basically means that the new version can retain the old camera settings. The original OnePlus Open model featured an impressive camera setup, including a 64-megapixel 3x periscope camera.

The OnePlus 13 is also rumored to launch in early 2025, which could add confusion to the brand’s launch schedule.
