The former NBA star blames the Bucks’ terrible start squarely on Doc Rivers

The Milwaukee Bucks haven’t had the best start this season with a 1-4 record. It was a mix of sloppy play on both sides of the ball, with the team still missing several key players due to injury.

Milwaukee entered the season expecting to be better than last year due to a full offseason and training camp combined. But so far, things have looked very messy on the ground.

Despite having plenty of talent on the roster, including stars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee has faltered thus far. But one former NBA star thinks all the blame should go to head coach Doc Rivers.

Baron Davis appeared on the Draymond Green Show and discussed the Bucks’ slow start. He had some choice words for the team and took direct aim at Rivers.

“A Doc Rivers team is a team to beat. I don’t care how much talent they got.”

Rivers has been criticized in the past for his decision-making, but he is widely viewed as one of the best coaches in the league. Most players tend to like him, but his teams have consistently come up short in the playoffs almost every season.

He led the Boston Celtics to a title in 2007-08, but has failed to win anything since. If he can’t help the Bucks turn things around, it could be the end of the line for Rivers in the NBA.

With the talent pool that Milwaukee has this year, all the pressure is on Rivers to make it work. He got a pass last season thanks to his mid-year takeover and key injuries that hit the team right at the start of the playoffs.

Milwaukee has been without star Khris Middleton this year as he deals with an injury. The team missed it on the field and it shows in their play.

He helps bring the entire unit together, so his lack of a scoring punch has been a detriment to the Bucks. But Milwaukee still shouldn’t be playing as bad as they have been.

They will have a chance to right the ship tonight as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. It will be a tough test, but if Milwaukee can come out victorious, it could set things in motion for them.
