WARRENSBURG – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Warrensburg sex offender for texting a 15-year-old and inviting her to perform sexual acts.

The sheriff’s office announced the arrest of Duke N. Barrett, 32, on Thursday. The sheriff’s office reported that an investigation found that Barrett, a Level 1 registered sex offender and parolee from NYS, sent text messages to a 15-year-old female who was known to him.

Barrett was charged with first-degree felony dissemination of indecent material to minors and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Barrett was arraigned in Warren County Central Magistrate Court and remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility for lack of bail. The sheriff’s office reported that the incident occurred in August 2024.

State police arrest Saratoga Springs man for alleged theft

WILTON – State police arrested a Saratoga Springs man Sunday after an alleged burglary at a Greenfield restaurant.

David Gregson, 57, of Saratoga Springs, was charged with third-degree theft and fourth-degree criminal mischief on Oct. 27.

Troopers were contacted by a restaurant located on Maple Avenue in Greenfield on Oct. 26, reporting a past burglary. State police reported that the investigation determined that Gregson had allegedly forced his way into the restaurant, causing damage to the building earlier in the evening. While in the building, Gregson allegedly stole money and fled on foot.

Gregson was located in Saratoga Springs several hours later, where state police reported he was arrested. It was transported to SP Wilton for processing. Gregson was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bond.

Virginia Jakway, 39, was arrested Wednesday and charged with violating the NYS Criminal Section for third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class D felony, as well as vehicle and traffic violations for driving while in the state of drunkenness, third degree aggravation. unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving on the shoulder.
