Family feud leads to triple murder in Andhra Pradesh

KAKINADA: Three members of a family were killed in a clash between two families over old rivalries at Salapaka village under Kajuluru mandal in Kakinada district on Thursday evening.
The deceased have been identified as Bathula Chinnayya (48), his brother Bathula Raju (38) and his son Bathula Ramesh (28). Another brother of Chinnayya, Bathula Srinu, was injured in the clash.
According to the police, Chinnayya, Raju, Srinu and Ramesh were daily laborers and lived together. Nageswara Rao’s family lived opposite their house. Both families have had rivalries for the past five years. In addition, Chinnayya allegedly had an illicit relationship with Nageswara Rao’s wife.
Both families were involved in a verbal war on Thursday night under the influence of alcohol.
Later, around 8 pm, Nageswara Rao and four others tried to attack Chinnayya with rods and sticks. His brothers and Chinnayya’s son rushed to protect him.
In the attack, Chinnayya, Raju and Ramesh sustained serious injuries and died in hospital. Srinu, who was injured in the clash, was admitted to the government general hospital in Kakinada.
His condition is still critical. Police arrested Nageswara Rao, Babu, Subrahmanyam, Dora Babu and Vindo. Kakinada SP Vikranth Patil visited the spot after the incident. A large number of police personnel have been deployed in the village as a precautionary measure.
