You’d think winning Australia’s richest horse race would guarantee your place in horse racing royalty. But Bella Nipotina’s gutsy $20 million Everest victory last month didn’t catapult her onto the racing version of the rich list.

The seven-year-old mare won four Group 1 races and a staggering $18.8 million in prize money, most of which was collected in Everest. She is now third on the all-time prize money list behind Winx but well ahead of unbeaten legend Black Caviar.
