24 is applying to be the Texarkana, Ark., police chief

TEXARKANA, Ark. (KSLA) — Public Service Commission of Texarkana, Ark. met in special session Thursday (Oct. 31) to consider hiring a permanent police chief.

Police Chief Michael Kramm resigned in April. And in May, city leaders named Ed Chattaway as interim police chief.

On Thursday, City Manager Tyler Richardson told KSLA News 12 they received 24 applications for the police chief position. It is now up to the city manager and the Civil Service Commission to determine the best person to lead the Texarkana, Ark., Police Department.

Officials said other city leaders will be notified before their selection is made public.
