Bully Ray reacts by taking a “spear” on the floor, why is it so hard to do

During a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray discussed catching the spear and why it’s such a difficult move to pull off when he hits the court.

On the difficulty of catching the spear on the ground: “That spear, you know it’s coming. You see it coming. You have time to think about it. So to stand there and catch the spear on the ground, the same way you would take it to the ring, is almost impossible to do. Come back back and watch anyone who has taken Bron Breakker’s spear to the ground, as Bron Breakker has started spearing to the ground. None of them take it very well.”

In motion being an “ugly bump”: “You know it’s going to hit you, but you know the fall on the concrete is going to be worse.”
