EAST STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is facing charges after police say he forced a car off the road, causing the driver to crash and seriously injure himself.

In June 2024, officers were dispatched to a serious injury accident in the area of ​​East Broad/Exchange streets in East Stroudsburg.

At the scene, police said a car hit a tree after the driver was run off the road by a man driving a large white pickup truck. The driver was taken to hospital for injuries.

The driver of the truck returned to the scene of the accident on foot and was identified as David Nosti. Police say Notsi said he was driving on East Broad Street when the car tried to pass him on the left, lost control and hit a tree.

Nosti said his 6-year-old was in the truck with him and he went home to drop him off.

Scranton man charged with indecent assault on a child

After investigators obtained surveillance video of the crash, they saw the victim try to pass Nosti, but he swerved into the opposite lane at high speed trying to block the victim from passing him, forcing the car off the roadway and causing the accident.

Nosti was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault by motor vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, careless driving with serious bodily injury and other related offenses.

Nosti was arraigned and his bail was set at $25,000 unsecured.
