Nathan Adelson Hospice Announces Agreement to Join Chapters Health West

Pioneering a new era of nonprofit hospice care in Western states

Nathan Adelson Hospice, in collaboration with three other highly respected non-profit organizations – East Bay Hospice (Pleasant Hill, CA), Hospice of Santa Cruz County (Santa Cruz, CA) and Willamette Vital Health (Salem, OR) – announced today a groundbreaking affiliation agreement to join Chapters Health West, a newly launched division of Chapters Health System. This landmark partnership marks the beginning of a new era in non-profit hospice care in the western United States, combining innovation with a commitment to compassionate, community-based care.

“A new era in chronic disease management begins with Chapters Health West, and this affiliation allows us to preserve the compassionate, patient-centered care our community trusts while expanding opportunities for innovation and sustainability for years to come.” said Nathan Adelson Hospice President and CEO Karen Rubel. “By joining Chapters Health West, Nathan Adelson Hospice remains deeply rooted in our community while gaining the strength and resources needed to navigate the changing healthcare landscape.”

“We are building a future where we can do more, innovate more and serve more,” said Andrew Molosky, MBA, CHPCA, president and chief executive officer for Chapters Health. “By aligning our strengths, we will continue to provide exceptional care while expanding our capacity to meet the growing needs of those facing serious illness and pain in our communities.”

The launch of Chapters Health West comes at a critical time when the health care landscape is changing rapidly, with an increasing prevalence of for-profit entities in hospice care. The new partnership underscores the mission of all involved affiliates to preserve and improve the not-for-profit hospice model, prioritizing patient care over profit.

“Chapters Health West will leverage the combined strengths of its partner organizations to improve services, drive innovation and ensure that the legacy of compassionate care remains intact,” continued Molosky. “While joining forces within the broader health care system of the chapters, each hospice will maintain its deep-rooted local leadership, culture and community relationships. This ensures that care remains personal, meaningful and aligned with the values of each unique community.”

The Chapters Health West partnership unites the pioneering spirit of the Western United States with the long-standing values of not-for-profit care. Patients, families and caregivers can expect expanded services, advanced resources and ongoing support at every stage of serious illness and pain.

“As we officially welcome Nathan Adelson Hospice, Hospice East Bay, Hospice of Santa Cruz County and Willamette Vital Health to the Chapters Health family, we are excited to work in step with our shared mission to consistently grow the home and community, end of care of life, while at the same time maintaining its long-standing tradition in the community,” added Molosky.
