Víctor Boniface reacts to Super Eagles being held hostage at Libya airport

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has reacted to the inhumane treatment of the national team players at Al Abaq Airport, Al Abaq, Libya ahead of the 2025 AFCONq second leg.

The team’s plane was diverted mid-air to the remote airport, about a three-hour drive to Benghazi, and has been grounded at the airport since last night for more than 10 hours

Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface has taken to social media to express his frustration and dissatisfaction and has called on the relevant authorities to intervene.

“I’ve been in the airport for almost 13 hours with no food, no wifi, no place to sleep. Africans we can do better @caf,” he wrote.
