Why Oasis won’t be doing interviews on their reunion tour

Those looking to learn the story behind the Oasis Gallagher Brothers reunion shouldn’t expect it to come from a future interview. This is what Liam Gallagher revealed in a series of interactions on social media platform X, explaining that the brothers would not be doing any interviews.

The brothers have had a very combustible relationship over the years that eventually led to Noel Gallagher leaving Oasis in 2009. In the time since, the brothers have remained estranged, mostly using interviews or social media to address each other . For a while, it seemed Definitely, maybe The album’s anniversary may offer an opportunity for reconciliation, but Liam revisited the album solo on tour earlier this year, while Noel opted out.

But apparently a social media cooldown gave way to open communication behind the scenes, and the brothers were able to come up with a plan to reunite for tour dates in 2025.

Why Oasis’ Gallagher Brothers Won’t Do Interviews

On Platform X, a fan made a remark about the Oasis reunion that caught Liam Gallagher’s attention and he responded.

“An important context as fans that we have to recognize is that Liam and Noel’s relationship >> oasis as a band,” the fan noted. “Their relationship has been marked by estrangement for years, and it should be noted that the media contributed to their tensions. A healthy bond should be prioritized.”

“RESPEK,” Gallagher countered at the comment.

This opened the door to more comments and questions about interviews and media.

“We don’t want to do interviews because we’re afraid the media will ask us intrusive questions and try to pick holes in our relationship,” Liam admitted of the reasoning behind airing the interviews. When another person asked why they weren’t doing interviews, Gallagher replied, “You can’t get irritated.”

Gallagher also responded to other fans by stating that there would not be a “first interview” and also stated about a possible press conference: “They won’t get 1.”

Liam Gallagher puts an end to social media this Christmas

Over the years, Liam Gallagher has primarily used Twitter (now X) to make his feelings about his brother Noel known. There was a long period of time when he called Noel a “potato” and noted the similarities between his brother and the starchy vegetable.

But after the reunion was announced, Liam took a different approach when talking about Noel.

When asked by a fan if he was still going to “tweet crap about Noel”, the singer replied: “No, it’s all done, peace has prevailed, he’s the man I can’t wait to be on stage with kissing him in between every song.”

Someone else had asked him if Noel was still a ‘potato’, and Liam replied: “No, he’s fine, no, I won’t say a bad word about this wonderful young man.”
