Free Emergency Opioid Overdose Training, Narcan in Petersburg every 2nd Thursday of the month

Did you know that unintentional drug overdoses are one of the leading causes of death in Petersburg?

Do you have a friend or loved one struggling with opioid addiction? Want to be better prepared to help your fellow community members in an overdose emergency? The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) offers REVIVE recurrent opioid overdose and Narcan training for locals.

REVIVE training is held every 2nd Thursday of each month from 1-3 pm at the Virginia Community Resource Center in Petersburg, located at 32 West Washington Street. Visits are welcome.

The training will focus on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose emergency using Narcan, a prescription drug that reverses opioid overdoses. Attendees will receive free Narcan at the end of the training.

CVHS Petersburg Recovery Center: Affordable local substance abuse recovery treatment

Looking for affordable substance abuse recovery treatment for you or a loved one? The CVHS Petersburg Recovery Center can help. They offer medication-assisted treatment, individual and group psychotherapy, peer support, case management services and more at affordable prices. The center also offers free REVIVE opiate overdose training to those interested, as well as Narcan.

The center aims to promote harm reduction in accordance with the goals of each individual client, prioritizing the dignity, value and self-determination of each person seeking care.
