Twitter reacts to Drake Maye’s first start in Patriots loss to Texans

The New England Patriots were defeated by the Houston Texans on Sunday by a margin of 41-21.

It was the debut of rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who threw for 243 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. This was his chance to show what he could do offensively, and he provided a spark to the Patriots offensive unit.

He also showed his versatility as both a passer and a runner. He had five carries for 38 yards in a game where he was constantly pressured by the Texans’ strong defensive line.

The Patriots may have lost the game, but it was a promising showing from the teams young quarterback.

DeMario Douglas was his favorite target in the game as the wide receiver recorded six receptions for 92 yards and his first career touchdown.

Reactions on social media surged after Maye’s first start, with fans mostly cheering for his performance, even after the loss.
