Sri Lankan innovators shine at TADHack 2024: pushing boundaries with generative AI and telecom APIs

HSenid Mobile Solutions, a leading IT service provider, concluded TADHack Sri Lanka 2024, the first Telecom Application Development Hackathon, bringing together innovators to create impactful solutions. This year’s theme focused on generative AI and telecom APIs, challenging participants to push the boundaries of technology. Eight dynamic teams showcased their creations, competing for local recognition, a share of the $10,000 global prize, and exclusive internship opportunities at vCon and TNID.

Held at the Dialog Axiata Auditorium in Colombo, TADHack Sri Lanka reaffirmed the nation’s status as a hub for telecommunications innovation. The event kicked off with an inspiring keynote by hSenid Mobile Solutions CEO Dinesh Saparamadu, which set the tone for a day of creativity, collaboration and technological advancements.

TADHack Sri Lanka 2024 Winners

First Place: Team ‘DevDynasty’

The DevDynasty team took first place with ‘LorrySwap’, a software platform that helps farmers, truck drivers and market vendors manage the logistics of agricultural products. It uses real-time tracking, demand forecasting and truck coordination to reduce waste and ensure on-time delivery of fresh produce. The team won a Rs. 100,000 cash prizes and a chance to compete on the global TADHack stage.

Second Place: Team ‘Digital Diamonds’

‘BabyChart’ is a mobile application that digitizes the Child Health and Development Record (CHDR), using AI to facilitate child health management. It simplifies record keeping, helping parents and healthcare providers track a child’s health and development more accurately.

Third Place: Team ‘CipherSquad Ruhuna’

KUNU is a smart waste management application that improves garbage collection in urban areas. It addresses key challenges in waste management, making the process more efficient and environmentally friendly.

TADHack Sri Lanka 2024 provided a platform for young developers to showcase their innovative solutions, using hSenid Mobile’s latest technologies and APIs. The event demonstrated the immense potential of the Sri Lankan tech community to drive digital transformation across multiple industries. “The creativity and ingenuity displayed by all participants was truly inspiring,” said Dinesh Saparamadu. “TADHack has always been about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in telecom application development, and this year’s solutions have shown that Sri Lanka continues to lead the way in digital innovation.” Winning teams will now have the opportunity to compete on the global stage, further showcasing their solutions and potentially securing the coveted global prize.
