Search for suspect in fatal Tucson crash

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Police Department is looking for the driver of a vehicle they say hit a woman on a bicycle and then left the scene.

TPD says the crash happened Saturday morning, Oct. 12, around 3:30 a.m. in the area of ​​Rosemont and Speedway.

Detectives learned Julie Billeter, 53, was riding her bicycle eastbound on Speedway Boulevard in the bike lane when she swerved in front of a vehicle also traveling eastbound.

TPD says the vehicle hit her from behind and then left the scene of the accident.

Billeter was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about this collision call 911 or 88-CRIME.
