Official opening of a Harris-Call Center and the presentation of THE WAY OF FREEDOM AHEAD, a new Murallocated at 1904 5th Avenue, in the 3400 block of West Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90018; the mural THE WAY OF FREEDOM AHEAD covers the entire west wall of the Westbrooks building.

The mural vividly depicts the civil rights greats who have advanced freedom, justice and voting rights. Some were the first historic or elected officials, included Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., President Barack Obama, Vice President Kamala Harris, Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, Caesar Chavez, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and First Lady Michelle Obama .

The FREEDOM mural was conceived and commissioned by a visionary Dr. Logan H. Westbrooksa longtime civil rights advocate, best-selling author, educator, and former music industry executive. It was painted by Dylan M. Keene. Their purpose is to “engage and energize the community to continue fighting for freedom, justice, voting rights, to register and to VOTE!” The mural is unique in the Nation.

Dr. and Mrs. Geri Westbrookssponsors of the mural and the Harris Call Center, noted that the mural is already capturing the attention of about 350,000 daily commuters (LA Metro verified), with hundreds stopping to admire, photograph and share this powerful mural.

The Harris-Call Center is now open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and needs volunteers to come in and register.

The FREEDOM’S PATHWAY FORWARD mural is now a must-see for families, student groups, all Angelenos and tourists in Los Angeles. In the coming days, weeks, and months, the mural will be a popular and must-see site during the 2024 and 2025 elections for King Festivities, the inauguration, and all of Black History Month!
