Texas Longhorns fan behavior called ‘third world universe’ after tough loss

TThe 2024 college football season got off to a wild start, and not in a good way. Instead of action on the field, it was the fans who stole the spotlight with rather embarrassing behavior. First, the Vanderbilt Commodores grabbed the goal posts as a souvenir after a big win against Alabama. And then things got even worse when Texas Longhorns fans completely lost it.

So the Longhorns lost to the Georgia Bulldogs on their own turf, and things went downhill from there. When a crucial play was called back due to questionable pass interference, Texas fans couldn’t handle it. They started throwing water bottles and beer cans on the field in a fit of rage. It was a pretty ugly scene, to say the least.

Paul Finebaum, a well-known analyst, did not hold back when discussing the whole ordeal. He said: “It was a truly disgusting and shameful moment…it was a terrible sight for everyone.” It’s a harsh but fair assessment.

Finebaum didn’t stop there. He went on to say, “It looked like the crowd influence and outcome that is for third world universes not college football.”

Head coach Steve Sarkisian must have been pretty embarrassed by the whole thing. Not only did their team lose, but now they have to deal with this messy situation caused by their own fans. And finally, he had to shell out $250,000 for his behavior. Talk about adding insult to injury.

But hey, let’s not forget that sport can bring out the best and the worst in people. We hope that everyone involved will take this as a learning experience and work to create a more positive and respectful environment for the future.

So, yeah, it was definitely an eventful start to the 2024 college football season. Here’s hoping the rest of the season brings more cheer and less teasing.
