‘The Masked Singer’ judges are shocked by the ‘model’ chess piece after the presentation

It was “Barbie Night” on “The Masked Singer” as the contestants danced and sang the night away.

Celebrating Barbie’s 65th birthday, the October 23 episode was filled with Group B taking over the stage again and performing Barbie-inspired and themed songs.

But before the contestants advanced to the next round, panellist Ken Keong went full Ken, performing an epic and hilarious rendition of “I’m Just Ken”. Remaining panelists Robin Thicke, Rita Ora and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg also channeled their best Barbie and Ken.

See how Bluebell, Chess Piece, Goo and Wasp did this week.

What did each contestant do?

Bluebell wowed the panelists with Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” while Goo wowed them with an emotional rendition of Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent.”

Chess Piece rocked the crowd with Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman,” and Wasp closed out the night with a riveting performance of Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper” that brought the panelists to tears.

Who went home this week?

After a difficult decision, one contestant had to be unmasked and was the chess piece. Before viewers found out who it was, the panelists gave their final guesses.

McCarthy-Wahlberg thought it was Serena Williams, Jeong guessed it was Issa Rae, while Ora thought it was Tyra Banks and Thicke said it was ballet dancer Misty Copeland.

They were all wrong because it was Laverne Cox.

After being unmasked, Cox spoke about the trauma and fear she felt around singing and hoped that “The Masked Singer” would help her conquer it.

“What was so fun tonight was that I got to sing and dance like I did when I was a kid,” she said of her experience on “The Masked Singer.” “And it didn’t have to be right, it didn’t have to be perfect. I just had fun, and I hope this is the beginning of even more healing from this trauma.”

Jeong said Cox was a “role model, a trailblazer and an inspiration.”

Cox also spoke about being proud to represent and have her own Barbie as an openly trans black woman, “I’m so incredibly blessed.”

Next week, the final three of Group B will square off again and try to avoid the double elimination.
