US elections: Trump leads Harris by 2%, latest polls show

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump leads Democratic rival Kamala Harris by 2%, according to the Wall Street Journal poll. According to the new poll, 52% of voters approved of former President Donald Trump for his job as president.

According to Wall Street Journal polls, Donald Trump leads with 47% over Kamala Harris with 45% of the vote, found on Wednesday (October 23). The poll marks a four-point difference from an August poll that showed Kamala with a slight lead over Trump.

The Wall Street Journal poll polled 1,500 registered voters Oct. 19-22. It also maintained margins of error of 2.5 percentage points that could be added or subtracted. So the vote gap is within the margin of error, meaning even Kamala Harris could lead Trump or vice versa, according to the Journal.

The poll released Wednesday found that 53 percent of voters have a negative view of her and only 45 percent have favorable views of current Vice President Kamala Harris.

According to Journal polls, Kamala Harris received the worst job rating for her role as vice president. Only 42 percent of people were satisfied with her job as vice president of the United States, highlighting that most residents do not approve of her position as second in command to outgoing President Joe Biden.

However, Trump has seen a shift in the most recent Journal poll, with voters taking a more favorable view of him. A majority of 52 percent of voters approved of his job as the former US president.

When the Journal asked voters about the economy and immigration, they thought Trump did a better job than Harris. However, when asked about the abortion issue, they preferred Harris to Trump.

The New York Post quoted Republican pollster David Lee as telling the Journal, “Voters are finally getting to know her.”
