Alex’s future at the BBC has reportedly been thrown into doubt, with sources claiming she has been “deeply hurt” by the “lack of support” around Football Focus.

The presenter is believed to have lodged a complaint with channel bosses last year following her response to criticism she faced over the show’s low viewing figures.

According to The Sun, Alex is now believed to be “considering other offers” and is even eyeing a move to the US with girlfriend Jess as his contract with the BBC is up for renewal next year.

“There are no guarantees he will be at the BBC next summer – his contract is up for renewal and he is in talks for a number of other exciting projects.

“Last year she was very hurt by the unfair criticism of falling viewing figures and felt she was being thrown under a bus. The viewing figures were not what was reported and she believes no one it backed up and issued the correct viewing figures.
