Police raid Liam Payne’s hotel room in Argentina after One Direction singer falls to his death

Liam Payne’s hotel room in Argentina has been raided by police, who are looking for “new information” about staff working on the day of the One Direction singer’s death.

Officials were searching documents in Casa Sur’s log books as part of the raid, in addition to information stored on their computers, Us Weekly reports.

The 4-star hotel in Buenos Aires “must provide” more security camera footage from October 16, the day Payne died at the age of 31, sources told the channel.

He died instantly from massive internal and external injuries and had a toxic mix of drugs in his system at the time of his death.

The attack comes just a day after the singer’s father, Geoff Payne, said he was cooperating with officials investigating his son’s death.

The singer’s bodyguard, Paul Higgins, has been helping police review security footage at the hotel, along with Payne’s father. Higgins was also seen questioning several hotel employees.

Geoff, 66, had been warned he could have to wait up to 10 days to bring his son’s body home.

The elder Payne has since promised to stay with his son until he can return him to the UK.

The pop star’s body is being held in a morgue while officials from the Argentine Ministry of Justice continue their investigations.

The father-of-three, who shares Liam and his sisters Ruth Gibbins and Nicola Payne with his wife Karen, visited the hotel where his son died last week and thanked fans for their heartfelt tributes.

Earlier this week, a preliminary autopsy report by the Argentine Prosecutor’s Office found that Payne died of “multiple trauma” and “internal and external bleeding.”

In addition to pink cocaine, also called Tusi, a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine and ecstasy, drugs detected in his bloodstream through a toxicology exam included benzodiazepine, crack and cocaine.

A makeshift aluminum pipe for ingesting the substances was also found nearby, ABC News reported.

Witnesses also said Payne was acting erratically in the hours leading up to his death.

A frantic hotel manager called the police in Buenos Aires shortly before his death, alerting them that someone under the influence of drugs and alcohol was trashing the room and potentially putting his life in danger .
