Sharmila accuses Jagan of ethical treason over family property dispute | Vijayawada news

Vijayawada: APCC President YS Sharmila Reddy has written a letter to his brother, former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of disowning his father. YS Rajasekhara Reddythe guidelines on the division of family assets.
The letter, dated September 12, outlines Sharmila’s complaints over what she calls her brother’s breach of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between them, as well as his refusal to distribute assets equally between the four grandchildren of his late father.
Sharmila stated in the letter that her father explicitly ordered that all properties acquired during his lifetime be divided equally among his grandchildren, a wish she says Jagan initially agreed to but later abandoned. She accused the YSRCP chief of “trying to unilaterally terminate the MoU and take the dispute to court”, actions which she said were against her father’s wishes.
In the letter, Sharmila points to properties like Bharathi Cements, Sakshi Media and Saraswati Power as sources of contention, adding that her brother retains a majority stake in Bharathi Cements and Sakshi, despite the partial agreement of the MoU. The letter also reveals a personal dimension, with Sharmila expressing deep dismay at Jagan’s alleged legal actions against her and her mother, calling it “ethical betrayal”. He claimed that the transfer of Saraswati Power shares, promised to him in the MoU, remains unfulfilled, and accused his brother of “going back on verbal agreements made in the presence of our mother”.
Sharmila also criticized Jagan’s attempts to restrict her political voice, with a clause in the MoU allegedly requiring her to refrain from speaking against him and YS Avinash Reddy on public platforms. He rejected this as an “unreasonable demand”, stressing that his political career is his own.
