Nores, who is linked to controversial deals with Stoneway Capital and Araucaria Energy, faces allegations of financial misconduct and environmental violations related to energy contracts won during Mauricio Macri’s presidency.

Stoneway Capital, led by Nores, filed for bankruptcy in 2020 after defaulting on a $220 million loan. His rapid financial rise, along with links to former Argentine finance minister Luis Caputo, has raised questions about his business ethics and criminal record. Adding to the intrigue, Nores was photographed with Maya Henry’s mother in 2021, before she met Payne.
