Look for the passenger who fell overboard on a Taylor Swift-themed cruise | US news

A search is underway after a woman fell overboard from a Taylor Swift-themed cruise in the Bahamas, officials said.

The Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas was about 17 miles from the capital, Nassau, when the 66-year-old man was reported to have fallen on Tuesday night.

The US Coast Guard said it was assisting the Royal Bahamas Defense Force in the search as it continued Wednesday morning, US broadcaster NBC Sky News reported.

An HC-144 aircraft crew and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew were part of the search team.

A Royal Caribbean spokesman said it is working with local authorities and providing support and assistance to the guest’s family “during this difficult time”.

The ship – with a few hundred Swifties on board: She left Miami for Florida on Monday as part of a fan-organized event called In My Cruise Era.

The event, organized by travel agents Jessica Malerman, Nicole Rivera and Shelby Reyes of Marvelous Mouse Travels, was not affiliated with the singer, but included private onboard events, according to the group’s website.

Events included a welcome cocktail party, karaoke, friendship bracelet exchange, Taylor trivia and evening period dress themes.
