OnePlus 13R launched globally; SIRIM certification leak confirms Moniker

On October 31, OnePlus will unveil the much-anticipated OnePlus 13 in China, which features the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Following the trend of previous launches, the OnePlus 13 will likely introduce a companion device, the OnePlus 13R. Recent reports have confirmed the existence of the OnePlus 13R, with its model number CPH2645 listed on Malaysia’s SIRIM certification site, hinting at an upcoming global launch.

While the listing doesn’t provide many details, it does suggest that OnePlus is preparing to expand its lineup with this new “R” model. This strategy mirrors OnePlus’ previous approach, where the OnePlus 12R was essentially a rebranded OnePlus Ace 3. Speculations indicate that the OnePlus 13R could follow a similar path to the global variant of the OnePlus Ace 5, which will be launched soon.

What can we expect from the OnePlus 13R?

As whispers about the specifications of the OnePlus 13R circulate, fans are eager to see how this device will stand out in the OnePlus family. The OnePlus 13R is expected to pack a powerful punch with the Qualcomm SM8750 chipset, potentially the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This would be a notable upgrade, as previous “R” models typically featured older chipsets, showing OnePlus’ commitment to performance even in its mid-range devices.

The camera capabilities are also set to improve. The OnePlus 13R is rumored to have a dual camera setup, with a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary camera along with a 50MP Samsung JN1 telephoto lens. This addition is a first for the ‘R’ series and promises improved photography options compared to the OnePlus 12R.

Battery life is another highlight as the OnePlus 13R is expected to pack a robust 6,000mAh battery. This is an upgrade to the OnePlus 12R’s 5,500mAh battery, which had already set a high standard for endurance in OnePlus devices. These improvements position the OnePlus 13R as a strong contender in the competitive mid-range market.

Also, the device is likely to have a 1.5K display, although details about its size are still under wraps. Given the close relationship between the Ace and “R” models, more information about the OnePlus 13R is likely to emerge once the OnePlus Ace 5 is officially launched.

As seen with previous releases, the OnePlus 12 and 12R made their debut in India earlier this year, suggesting that the OnePlus 13 line could follow a similar timeline. With anticipation, tech enthusiasts and OnePlus fans alike are eagerly awaiting the launch of the OnePlus 13 and its exciting sibling, the OnePlus 13R.
