Solis launches smart upload and download functionality – pv magazine International

Ginlong (Solis) Technologies announces the expansion of its intelligent battery charging and discharging solutions to customers in 14 countries in Europe. The move demonstrates Solis’ ongoing commitment to advancing its SolisCloud monitoring software alongside its world-class hybrid inverter technology.


Solis leverages data from third-party electricity trading platforms, such as Nordpool, to forecast day-ahead prices and provide accurate hourly prices for different regions and countries. Depending on the inverter model, customers can set up to 12 time periods for charging and discharging, automatically absorbing energy into their batteries when prices are lower, allowing them to take advantage of the savings without moving a said

Households and businesses across Europe benefit from energy storage systems, but face fluctuating electricity prices throughout the day, limiting potential savings. With the latest Solis software advancements and electricity pricing built into SolisCloud, customers can optimize their Solis energy storage systems to charge batteries when electricity prices are low and re-discharge se on the net when prices are high. This smart functionality reduces overall electricity costs and maximizes savings, with or without a solar PV installation.

Main features:

– Time-of-use electricity prices: SolisCloud retrieves day-ahead prices from platforms such as Nordpool and Octopus, allowing customers to know when electricity prices will be high or low.

– Loading and unloading strategies:

o Charging: Charge batteries during low price periods, reducing costs.

o Discharge: Discharge batteries during high price periods, maximizing savings or profits.

– Intelligent “Dynamic Charging” control: SolisCloud automatically manages charging and discharging behaviors based on real-time data, user demand and expected electricity consumption patterns.
