Cheryl Hines hints that RFK Jr. sends “rumors” in first interview since scandal

Cheryl Hines appeared to allude to husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s sexting scandal. during a red carpet event over the weekend.

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor was tight-lipped as he spoke to the press for the first time since his husband’s “inappropriate personal relationship” with reporter Olivia Nuzzi came to light in mid-September.

During the Groundlings’ 50th anniversary event in Los Angeles on Saturday, Hines told Us Weekly that she was dealing with “a lot of emotions” from the “rumors” that have been swirling.

The comedian added: “But it’s all going to be in my book. I’m writing a book. I’ve been taking notes, serious notes!

Hines, who wore her wedding ring to the event, also spoke to People during the celebration for the improv troupe.

When asked how she was doing, she told the magazine that she was “feeling good” about life. However, the “Suburgatory” star stopped short of directly addressing the alleged affair.

Reports that RFK Jr. and Nuzzi, a well-connected political reporter, had a sexually explicit text message relationship first emerged last month in journalist Oliver Darcy’s newsletter, Status.

Nuzzi’s employer, New York magazine, later announced that she was being placed on leave not to disclose her personal relationship with the former independent presidential candidate, whom she had profiled for publication in November 2023.

In a statement, the outlet told readers, “Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, it would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign.”

On Monday, New York magazine announced Nuzzi’s permanent departure from the outlet.

Nuzzi acknowledged having a personal relationship with one of his subjects in a statement, though he did not name Kennedy. He maintained that the romance was “never physical”.

Although Kennedy has denied reports of the affair, several publications claimed that Hines was considering divorce in the wake of the sexting scandal.

But the couple appeared to be on good terms in early October when they were seen holding hands at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Mass., following the death of RFK Jr.’s mother, Ethel Kennedy .
