Trump says scandal-scarred RFK Jr. loves ‘healthy food and women’s stuff’

Maybe Robert F. Kennedy Jr. not so fond of Donald Trump’s latest praise.

That’s because Trump, while answering a question about how he would get more organic food to urban and low-income areas, oddly said at a town hall-style event that Kennedy is big on “stuff women”.

The timing of this comment is not great. The married Kennedy, 70 years old, has been embroiled in a sex scandal with new york magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi, 31, for the past month and has a history of being a serial spinner.

The comment may have been just a Freudian slip by Trump, who himself has been the subject of accusations for decades. Or Trump may have meant that Kennedy is a supporter of women’s rights like abortion, which Kennedy has supported in his presidential campaign ever since.

Either way, the comment doesn’t make much sense in the context of the question Trump was being asked.

“What is the plan to do with the health food industry and ban artificial foods in urban communities that have less access to organic whole foods?” a Bronx man asked Trump.

Trump replied: “So Bobby Kennedy, right? Everybody likes Bobby, and he’s really into health food and women’s stuff, everything. He wants to do things on the environment, and he endorsed me. The first time a Kennedy endorses a Republican. It might be the last, but I doubt it.”

Trump, a self-proclaimed lover of fast food and Diet Coke, finally got around to answering the question. He suggested that Kennedy would have a role within his administration that would lead to increased food regulations and perhaps an initiative to increase healthy food in urban areas.

“He would be so perfect,” Trump said of Kennedy. “He doesn’t like artificial food and he doesn’t like pesticides and all the things they put on him. And if you listen to him for 10 minutes, I mean, he says that other countries that do nothing (to their food) are healthier than us. Okay, we’re not that healthy, to put it mildly. So no artificial food. we don’t want We have plenty of food, food is not our problem.”

That wasn’t all from Trump, who praised America’s farmers and declared that they are “not doing as well” as they were under his presidency. The former president offered no proof of that, but said he would send Kennedy to right the ship.

“We will not have artificial food,” Trump said. “We don’t want artificial food. We want healthy food. And many things will happen. I’ll tell you, I’ll get Bobby Kennedy involved. He’s a great person… He’s a person who talks more about food and health than anything else, and I think that’s great, so we’ll take it.

“Four years from now you will be healthier than you are now.”
