Furious pregnant woman, flatmate refused to move out

Pregnancy is a time of change and transition, not only for the pregnant woman, but for everyone around her.

A woman was unwittingly dragged into the picture when her roommate found out she was pregnant and wanted to change her family’s living situation. The pregnant woman felt that her baked bread was giving her a leg up on her roommate, so she tried to get her to leave, but the roommate refused.

When a woman found out she was pregnant, she wanted her roommate to leave.

One woman took to Reddit to describe the predicament she found herself in with her roommate. She just found out she’s pregnant and it’s pretty far along.

“Last week, my roommate Becca found out that she’s not only pregnant, but seven months along,” she explained.

“He texted me saying we needed to talk today and I had assumed he would be leaving soon for more space when the baby comes,” she continued. “Instead she told me I have to move to make room for the nursery and her dad to move in.”

The roommate did not see this as a feasible option for herself.

“I’m on a terrible salary and I can’t afford to live anywhere else, plus, like, he wants me to move out right now so he can get ready for the baby,” she said.

Moving is simply not possible right now, he said.

“Even if I wanted to move now, the rental apartments in my area are too expensive or far below living standards, so I don’t want to move,” she shared.

The pregnant woman did not take well to her flatmate’s refusal to move out.

“She went absolutely crazy the moment I told her I’m not leaving, because I’m ruining her motherhood experience by not letting her family live together,” Becca said.

“I pay rent here and my name is on the lease until at least the end of the year,” the roommate said. “I won’t get out of the lease and I told him if he wants his little family together he should move out and I’ll find someone with half the rent cheap.”

“That made her start crying and saying she just wanted to ruin her life to the point where her dad had to comfort her and tell me to get out of her way already,” he explained. “I haven’t heard her stop crying since, but I think it’s totally valid that I don’t want to leave.”

The roommate later revealed that the pregnant woman may not have been expecting him, but was just trying to get rid of her.

In her responses to the comments on the original post, the roommate shared that she has her doubts about whether or not Becca is pregnant.

When one person left a comment saying that this was Becca’s problem and not the roommate’s, she shared the disturbing truth of the situation.

“Honestly, I don’t even know for sure if she’s really pregnant (or) she just wants me out,” he said.

Another commenter agreed with her. “I actually wonder if she really is pregnant, or if this is a ploy to move her boyfriend into a cheaper apartment with her,” they said.

It is possible not to know that you are pregnant.

This is a situation where it sounds extremely convenient that Becca didn’t know she was pregnant. However, it is entirely possible.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, “A cryptic pregnancy (or stealth pregnancy) is when a pregnant person does not know they are pregnant. In some cases, a person may only realize they are pregnant because labor begins.”

Although seven months sounds like a long time to not know you’re pregnant, it’s possible to not know for the entire duration of your pregnancy, although it’s “rare.”

Regardless of whether it’s true that Becca is pregnant or not, she can’t just kick her roommate out, especially since her name is on the lease.

If he wants to keep his family together, he’ll have to find another way to do it.
