The inappropriate text messages sent by Christian, who Geri married in 2015, emerged in February.

The woman, in her 40s, went to human resources at the Formula 1 team after she received Horner’s messages, often late at night.

She accused him of “coercive behaviour”, but an internal investigation chaired by an unknown KC appointed by Red Bull fired him. Horner has strongly denied any wrongdoing.

The accuser has been suspended as the saga unfolds, sparking fury from campaign groups who claim “women simply do not have confidence that their complaints will be properly investigated”.

Geri recently spoke about the importance of finding “courage” amid her family’s ongoing scandal, saying that issues “within” her, such as finding “strength” in difficult situations and reaching out for support explore in their new children’s book.
