The NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee reveals the top 16 of the season

The NCAA DI women’s volleyball committee announced its season’s top 16 rankings during the Pitt vs. Stanford game on Sunday, Oct. 20. All games up to Saturday 19 October were taken into account when determining the classification.

The committee considered several criteria to determine their rankings, emphasizing head-to-head results, top 10 wins and strength of schedule.

The 2024 DI Women’s Volleyball Semifinals and Championship Match will be held on December 19 and 22 at the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Game 1 of the semifinals is scheduled for 6:30 PM ET on Thursday, December 19 on ESPN. Game 2 of the semifinals will follow 30 minutes after Game 1 ends, also on ESPN. The national championship game will be played on Sunday, December 22 at 3 pm ET on ABC.

The revelation is based on the criteria used to select and rank the 64 teams for the volleyball championship. Includes strength of schedule, rating percentage index, head-to-head competition, results against regular opponents, significant wins and losses, and contest locations. Regional advisory committees also provide input for consideration by the Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee.
