Bleach Reveals Villain’s Shocking Weakness (And What It Means For Blood War)

The third episode of Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War, Part 3 has arrived and Soul Society has your back. Thanks to Yhwach unleashing his deadliest technique ‘The Almighty’, Ichigo Kurosaki and his human allies are battling the villain’s ability to anticipate almost any attack. Unfortunately for Ichigo, his background as a Quincy doesn’t help his situation as the shonen protagonist was forced to cut the Soul King in half due to his genetics. While things look bleak for the Shinigami, a last-minute weakness regarding Yhwach has been revealed that could prove to win the war for the anime’s heroes.

warning If you have yet to watch the latest episode of Bleach’s Thousand Year Blood WarEpisode 29, please note that we will be covering massive spoiler territory. This latest installment of the anime might feature the likes of Yhwach and Aizen, but the episode also goes into detail when it comes to Soul Society captain Jushiro Ukitake’s past. In the early years of the captain of the 13th squad, he suffered from a lung disease that threatened to take his life at the age of three. Left with few options, Ukitake’s parents prayed to the presence known as Mimihagi, a fallen deity who grants their request. The spirit has taken over its business again, and Ukitake is becoming something very different from what it once was.

Yhwach’s great weakness

Ukitaka has officially become the “right hand of the soul king”, meaning that there is still a chance that the overlord can be saved. Unfortunately, this also means that Jushiro is giving his life in service to his superiors and may not make it out of the Blood War alive thanks to this tactic. Even though the soul king has been cut in half, Ukitaka’s new state is revealed at the perfect time.

To refresh the memories of anime fans, Yhwach’s big new power is called “The Almighty” and allows the leader of the Wandenreich to see the future. This makes attacks sent his way almost guaranteed to be dodged or countered in a way that is beneficial to the Quincy leader. However, once Ukitaka’s shadow form rises from the depths to save the Soul King, Yhwach is unable to foresee this action, meaning that the Sternritter’s power has a definite weakness .

A deal with the devil

While the big villain of Blood War might be Yhwach, he’s not the only antagonist to appear during the Bleach anime’s big comeback. During the last episode, we witness the ned head of the Soul Society, Shunsui Kyoraku, visiting the nefarious Aizen. With the Shinigami reeling from the Wandenreich’s various attacks, Kyoraku has a deal for Aizen. The villain will be freed from his shackles in Soul Society and come to the surface, as Shunsui believes that Aizen has the same goals as the Shinigami over the Sternritter.

Unfortunately, Aizen isn’t too thrilled to have visitors, and despite the deal, he’s more than happy to demonstrate his power by snapping the fingers of a Soul Society grunt on a bloody screen. While Yhwach might have revealed a weakness here, Aizen’s power is nearly impossible to overcome, even with Ichigo’s previous power barely helping the Soul Reaper replacement pull off a win. Should Aizen and Yhwach meet and have a battle to the death, all bets are off on which villain will take the win.
