Greenwood, 23, who has made a positive start to the new chapter of his career with Ligue 1 side Marseille, is preparing to welcome his second child.

Marseille striker Mason Greenwood is reportedly set to become a father for the second time. The 23-year-old has been on the course to build his career in France. The former Manchester United striker spent last season at Spanish club Getafe on loan. He signed a permanent five-year contract with Marseille at the start of the summer after parting ways with the Red Devils. Greenwood has made a positive start to the new chapter of his career with the Ligue 1 side. He has already scored five goals in seven games in all competitions.

Amid all the chaos over his performance on the pitch, Greenwood is expecting his second child with partner Harriet Robinson, The Sun reports. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in July last year.

“Mason has grown up a lot in the last two years, especially since becoming a father. He and Harriet are enjoying life outside the intense limelight that comes with being a United player and are much more settled off the pitch , which means he can concentrate on his football,” a source close to Greenwood told The Sun.

When Greenwood made his debut for Manchester United’s senior team in 2019, he was considered one of the most promising talents in Europe. The Old Trafford hierarchy decided to release the youngster after his arrest on charges of sexual assault. He was loaned to Getafe in September of last year.

Greenwood looked impressive at the League club and finished as Player of the Season. He represented Getafe in 36 matches between tournaments and scored ten goals. Before moving to Spain, Greenwood recorded 35 goals and 12 assists in his 129 appearances for Manchester United.

According to reports, Barcelona have kept their eyes on Greenwood. According to a report from the Sun, the La Liga giants may table a £60m bid next summer to sign the England international. Barcelona scouts are said to have attended four of Greenwood’s games this season.

Greenwood, however, has been enjoying his time in France and may opt to stay for a few more seasons. “Mason loves France. He has been welcomed with open arms and is loving life in the league,” a source told The Sun. Apart from Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing Greenwood the next year
