Vasan Bala reacts to Divya Khossla’s claims that Jigra is copied from her film Savi.

Vasan Bala on the comparison of Jigra and Savi

Alia Bhatt of Vasan Bala and Jigra starrer Vedang Raina has been grabbing headlines since the day of its release. Divya Khossla Kumar recently alleged that the film is copied from her film Savi. Now the filmmaker has finally broken his silence on the same.

During an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Vasan Bala addressed Divya’s claim that Jigra was a copy of her film Savi and said, “Savi came out when we were editing Jigra. It’s already out there. Everyone can see- it and make up my mind I don’t really want to put anyone down or add more fuel I don’t think it’s that murky but anyone who can research and take anything out is more than welcome”.

Vasan Bala also spoke about Manipuri actor Bijou Thaangjam’s allegations of unprofessional behavior and discrimination against North East Indian actors and said, “I don’t remember seeing her face or her audition .He was never told he was shortlisted. It’s normal procedure to call and ask for availability. But I’m sure there’s a better way to handle things . If it felt bad, I apologize because these things happen.”

Jigra is the story of how a sister goes all out to save her brother from prison. The film clashed with Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and has only managed to collect Rs 22 crore in India. The film is produced by Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt and has failed to impress the audience. Alia Bhatt is now shooting for her upcoming film Alpha, which also stars Sharvari. The actress also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War in the works.
