Kishwer Merchant reveals she craved alcohol during her pregnancy: ‘It felt like drinking whiskey’

Kishwer Merchant and Suyyash Rai, who became popular after entering Bigg Boss 9 together, are one of the most loved celebrity couples in the television industry. The couple first met on the sets of Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani in 2011 and tied the knot in December 2016 after dating for several years. They welcomed their first child, a son named Nirvair, on August 27, 2021, and often post adorable family pictures on their social media.

The couple recently appeared on actress and Bigg Boss 14 winner Rubina Dilaik’s podcast where they shared their experiences as young parents and how it has transformed their lives. Looking back on her pregnancy, the actress made a hilarious revelation about how much she craved whiskey during pregnancy, despite being a non-drinker. Her husband replied, adding: “‘She doesn’t drink and yet she was enjoying the smell,’ much to his amusement.

The Kaisi Yeh Yaariyaan actress shared, “We were at a party and even though I’m not a drinker I felt like drinking whiskey. I told Suyyash and he asked me why I wanted to drink when I usually don’t . Later, I asked if I could just smell it. I’m still not sure how any of my friends realized I was pregnant.”

Talking about the changes she felt after welcoming Nirvair, she added, “Motherhood has brought about huge changes. I used to be psychologically strong, but that has changed. I have become a new person – I cry easily and often get furious with myself for being upset over small issues I’ve become extremely sensitive.”

Suyyash also joined in and recalled her experience during her pregnancy and shared, “It wasn’t just her who got pregnant. I was equally pregnant with her, especially in terms of weight. My mom sent gond ke ladoos and since they were not eaten, I had to finish them all. I got 103 kilograms! One day, I noticed that the scale read 102.8 kg and I asked myself, “What have I done to myself?”

On the work front, Kishwer has been a part of several big TV shows like Shaktimaan, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Khichdi, Hatim, Parvarrish, Kaisi Yeh Yaariyaan, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar and others. He was last seen in the web series Dear Ishq which premiered on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar. The series starred Niyati Fatnani and Shehban Azim in lead roles.

Suyyash on the other hand is known for his performances in shows like Laal Ishq, Phir Bhi Na Maane Badtameez Dil, Pehredaar Piya Ki and others.
