Two months after announcing they were expecting their first child, former Fahrenheit member Calvin Chen and his wife, actress Joanne Tseng, threw a party to reveal the baby’s gender.

Yesterday (October 17), Joanne took to her Instagram account to share highlights from the garden-themed celebration, with the reel dedicated to her little one.

“To be honest, when we first planned this party, I was indecisive. I wanted to throw it so we would have a good memory. But I also didn’t want to have a gender reveal party because there are so many people. This world that has too many expectations and tags for girls and boys You’re just you, the only one,” the 35-year-old said in the voiceover.

Despite this, the fun of popping the balloons kept them going, Joanne shared, adding that it was “really, really fun”.

She also said that they didn’t use the conventional pink and blue colors, instead choosing her favorite green to represent having a girl and white, Calvin’s favorite color, for a boy.

When Calvin, 43, popped the gold balloon, smaller white balloons and gold confetti fell around him, revealing they were expecting a boy.

“No matter what you are going to experience in your life, I hope you will always remember that there are many people who love you. All their blessings will be like sunlight and rain, always shining and nurturing you.” said Joanne. towards the end of the video.
