An Indian technician, who earns close to Rs 80 lakh a year, has sparked an online debate after asking Redditors whether he should move to Bengaluru from Europe. Via Reddit, the user said that he was “seriously considering” moving to Bangalore despite receiving a job offer with a lower salary. He explained that he had been working in Northern Europe for more than 5 years, but now he is considering relocating because the purchasing power is better and the market is also bigger in India. “Am I being a fool?” asked the user.

“I have 5 years of experience and working in Northern Europe. My salary is around 80 lakh CTC. I have received an offer in Bangalore which is around 50 lakh CTC. I am considering accepting it because the purchasing power it’s better in india and the market is bigger in india my family members advise against it because of the worse quality of life in india.

The user shared the post a few days ago. Since then, it has garnered several comments, with many advising the man against the move.

“Horrible work life balance, extreme corruption, adulterated food, polluted air, water. Anything else?” commented one user. “If you don’t want job stability and need a toxic culture, definitely go to India. EU labor laws make it very difficult for companies to make layoffs. In India, they’re laying off left, right and centre. Apart from family reasons, there is literally no reason for you to go back to India,” said another.

“Life in India is good until you have to deal with government officials, hospitals, traveling by train or road. If you have millions and a solid education, you can live easily even after breaking all the rules.” wrote a third user.

“If your native is Banglore, it will be a good decision, otherwise save yourself from micromanaging. There you will get a month’s leave to visit India. There are many more, but this is the one that gets me the most wrong,” joked one user.

“Hey stay in Europe Thank you later Reasons: health, pollution, mental stability, crime rate, politics, corruption, public transport, customs,” said another.
