Family of Woman Brutally Raped and Murdered by Illegal Immigrant Reacts to Kamala Harris’ Claims in Fox News Interview

The family of Rachel Morin, who was allegedly raped and killed by an illegal migrant, have slammed Kamala Harris after she admitted the death “shouldn’t have happened”.

The vice president made the remarks during an interview with Fox News, where she was asked about the impact of her administration’s immigration policies.

Journalist Brett Baier brought up the cases of Jocelyn Nungaray, 12, Laken Riley, 22, and Morin, 37, who were allegedly killed by illegal immigrants.

Harris said there was “no doubt” the cases were tragic, but argued that Democrats had tried to pass a border security bill that was defeated by the GOP.

But his explanation was rejected by Morin’s mother, Patty Morin, who pointed out that her daughter’s death took place long before the bill took effect.

“His apology rings hollow to us and to all the other families who have been victims of illegal immigration crimes.

“The fact is that the Biden-Harris administration reversed border policies that would have prevented a flood of illegal immigrants, including the man who murdered my daughter.

‘Rachel would still be alive today if they had taken action. It’s too late for words. We need responsibilities, not excuses.’

Morin’s battered, naked body was found on a Maryland hiking trail last year a day after the mother of six went missing.

Víctor Martínez Hernández, 23 years old, is accused of her rape and murder. The El Salvador-born migrant entered the country in February 2023 after murdering another woman in his home country.

He is also accused of attacking a nine-year-old girl and her mother in Los Angeles in March 2023, before Morin’s murder.

Morin’s mother, Patty Morin, said her daughter’s death could have been prevented if there had been tighter border security that could have picked up an outstanding warrant for the suspect in connection with another crime.

Harris claimed in the interview that tragedies like Morin’s could have been prevented if the Democrats’ border security bill had been passed.

Baier probed Harris about whether he regrets overturning the Trump administration’s policy that required illegal immigrants to be detained during the deportation process.

The vice president refused to be drawn into the question, instead accusing Trump and his allies of obstructing Democrats’ efforts to deal with the border crisis by allowing him to “run with a problem” in the next elections.

But Morin’s family said they viewed his comments as an “implicit admission” that Morin’s death could have been prevented.

“Vice President Harris was appointed to oversee the border crisis, and it was during her tenure that Rachel’s alleged killer entered the country in early 2023, uninvestigated, and was allowed to wreak havoc on America,” said the ‘lawyer for the Randolph Rice family.

“The fact is that Rachel’s death was preventable if the border had been secure when Harris took responsibility.”

Patty hit Harris to try to deflect responsibility.

“Vice President Harris swore to protect Americans when she took office, but she failed not only in her duty, but in her moral responsibility to safeguard the lives of those she promised to defend, leaving families like our broken and betrayed,” Patty. he continued

“You allowed my daughter’s alleged killer into this country, and now countless American families will suffer endless pain as a result of the crimes of illegal immigrants.

Harris gave the interview after a campaign event in Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, before heading to Wisconsin on Wednesday evening.

The difficult exchange came as the vice president has been under pressure to make more unscripted appearances and interviews as she tries to reach more voters.
