Pokemon fans divided by ‘Mewthree’ leak.

Pokemon fans divided by ‘Mewthree’ leak.

After Game Freak’s servers were hacked, Pokemon leaks continue. The latest batch of leaks specifically pertains to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. In the process of digging through these leaked files, Pokémon fans have discovered rejected Pokémon and more from Pokémon X and Y. Because of this, some Pokémon fans believe who have even found Pokémon. evidence that Mewthree was, at one point, planned for the game, although this leak is proving quite controversial.

For those who have never heard of Mewthree, it is a Pokemon that has never appeared in any game or anime. It has only appeared in Pokemon Pocket Monsters, one of the first Pokemon manga released in Japan.

As the name suggests, it’s the second clone of Mew, and technically not even a proper Pokemon, but a transformed form of Red Clefairy. However, it’s one that Pokemon fans have theorized and wondered about for years.

Over on social media platform X, Centro Leaks and more are convinced that Mewthree (design here) was almost in Pokemon X and Y after discovering the Pokemon’s name in the game’s first concept along with the “Super Evolution” concepts.

The point of contention involved in this set of Mewthree leaks stems from what some fans are calling a mistranslation. To that end, Pokemon translator PokeSuutami points out that references to Mewthree in Pokemon X and Y concepts are nothing more than a reference to one of the two evolutions of Mega Mewtwo that ended up being in the game instead of a Mew Pokemon new

Unfortunately, right now we only have speculation. While some believe that Mewthree has been confirmed in these leaks, the reality is that the leak is ultimately unclear because the text is a little more complicated and nuanced than it appears at first glance. Of course, that’s what you’d expect from a leaked concept paper that’s gone through machine translation.

Of course, Game Freak could squash the speculation and provide clarity, but given both the nature of these leaks and their history of not commenting on the specifics of leaks, rumors, and speculation, we don’t suspect that will happen.
