In a shocking turn of events, senior politician Baba Siddique was shot dead on October 12 by members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. While the police investigation is on, reports suggest that Baba was killed because he was close to Salman Khan, who has been under the gang’s scanner for years. Post the murder, Salman Khan’s security has been beefed up and he has been asked to avoid unnecessary visits. Here’s everything that transpired after the shocking incident.

After the murder, the area around Salman Khan’s Galaxy apartment has taken on a deserted look, with onlookers prohibited from stopping even momentarily to take selfies or videos. The place has effectively become a fortress, with police cordoning off the surrounding area.
Media personnel have not been able to shoot in the area, although CCTV cameras, facing the road, appear to be able to pick up any movement outside the apartment.
The walkway outside the Galaxy apartment is heavily guarded by male and female police officers. Meanwhile, workers and laborers in the area can be seen sitting at a distance, their mobile phones ready to catch a glimpse of the superstar.
After the murder, Salman Khan’s security has been upgraded to Y+ category. According to India Today, his security detail now includes police escort cars that will accompany him whenever he goes out. In addition, he will also be accompanied by a specially trained constable, skilled in the handling of all types of weapons, for additional protection.
Celebrity reactions
Among those mourning Siddique’s death was actress Bipasha Basu, who shared a picture of him on her Instagram stories with the message: “Strength to the family.” Saqib Saleem expressed his heartbreak at the news. In an emotional post, she stated, “Reading about Baba Siddique’s passing is heartbreaking. My interactions with him were always filled with warmth and love. May his soul rest in peace. Strength and prayers to the entire family in these difficult times. Praying for justice should not be spared.” Raj Kundra, husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, also shared his devastation: “A man who embodied kindness, bringing people together wherever he went. My partner has only lost a brother-in-law, but a guiding light, someone she I looked like a second father, Baba, your loss is unbearable, but those responsible will answer.” Baba Siddique was married to Ranjit’s sister and was not only his brother-in-law but a father figure. Shamita Shetty also expressed her shock and disbelief: “Shocked to hear about Baba Siddique!! What happened!!! May his soul rest in peace, and may God give his family the strength to deal with this terrible loss.”
Apart from this, Arbaaz Khan, commenting on the incident, exclusively told ETimes, “We are all being strong.”

As Lawrence Bishnoi’s threats to Salman Khan continue to grab headlines, an old speech by Vivek Oberoi praising the Bishnoi community (and not the gang) has gone viral. In the speech, the Saathiya actor said, “In every home, including mine, we feed children with cow’s milk.
