Samantha Ruth Prabhu ‘begged’ Raj-DK to find her replacement for Citadel after myositis diagnosis

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, 37, recently shared that she “begged” directors Raj and DK to cast someone else for Citadel: Honey Bunny after she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder myositis. She even sent some recommendations of actors who could replace her, but the directing duo refused to accept her suggestion.

talking with Galatta IndiaSamantha said: “I begged them to go ahead because I really didn’t think I could do it. I was really sure I couldn’t. I sent other recommendations: ‘Look at this heroine; it’s so amazing She will”. kill him, I’m begging you, I can’t do it. I sent them four options, it really wasn’t right.”

But Raj and DK refused to accept her suggestion and went ahead with her for the show. Now, Samantha is thankful that the directors took this decision as she is happy to watch herself on the show.

“Now, watching this program, I’m very grateful that they didn’t do it without me and that I found the strength to do it. Even before the verdict is in for this show, I’ll give it to myself to push through,” said Samantha.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been vocal about his battle with myositis, an autoimmune disease that affects the muscles. He has often spoken about the challenges he faced while shooting Citadel: Honey Bunny, the trailer of which has Internet taken by storm.

At the trailer launch event of the show, Varun Dhawan, Samantha’s co-actor, praised her resilience and strength.

He said: “I’ve never been on a shoot or in a creative process like that before, where I saw a co-actor go through these challenges. You learn a lot about human resilience and strength when you see someone struggling against something and still succeeding . Not only did Samantha inspire me, but so did Raj, DK and everyone at Amazon. Their dedication to this action program is truly inspiring.”

Citadel Honey Bunny, a spin-off of the American spy action series Citadel starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, will premiere on Prime Video on November 7.
